Dr. Andrea L. Feather has been in private practice as an orthodontist exclusively in the Chino Valley Area since the spring of 1989. To date, the doctor has completed an estimated 5000 orthodontic cases. She is recognized for practicing a broad spectrum of orthodontic care including those with special needs, those with facial birth defects, those with jaw joint problems and those requiring jaw surgery, in addition to the routine practice of orthodontics.
Diamond Bar is her childhood home and she attended at St. Joseph's Elementary School in Pomona. She graduated from Walnut High School in the top 5% of her class with highest honors. She delivered an address at graduation, an honor won by competition. As a senior, she won the department award for English. For her achievements in high school she is a lifetime member of the California Scholastic Federation. After high school, she completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology at California State University, Los Angeles. Seeing the possibility of pursuing a career as a doctor, she applied to 10 dental schools and was accepted into each one. She chose to matriculate into UCLA’s well-respected program.
In 1986 she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the UCLA School of Dentistry and concurrently completed a Master’s degree in Oral Biology. She finished in the top 10% of her dental class and received numerous awards during her academic career. These included merit-based departmental awards in Special Patient Care, the American Association of Orthodontists Award, the Marge L. Silverman Award for Women in Graduate Studies (an award outside the dental school and encompassing all graduate programs in the Los Angeles area), the Graduate Fellowship Grant in Oral Biology and the Graduate Division Research Grant at UCLA. Subsequent to dental school, she completed her post-doctoral specialty training as an Orthodontist and a Pediatric Dentist while remaining at UCLA.
